From the North, Knoxville, I-40, and Asheville area

Take I-26 to Airport exit #40. Turn right on Hwy 280 toward the Asheville airport and NC Ag Center.Continue toward Brevard (turning right as you exit the interstate),approx. 16 miles. Last hill is a SPEED TRAP!!! note 45mph!!!Then pass Taco Bell,Wal-Mart, and  Bi-Lo.Turn left at stoplight/Pizza Hut onto Hwy 64E. Go 3.7 mi. to Crab Creek Rd. (Vulcan Quarry on left and Texaco Station on right.) Turn right@ Texaco stn. Proceed 4.3 miles to DuPont Rd. Turn Right, go 2 miles. Campground is on the right, just past the horse crossing sign and Hamilton Estates. Upon Entering Campground, use 4WD if you have it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill. Non 4wd vehicles have no problems, unless they stop on graveled hill before getting to barn.So...Please do not stop below barn, on hill. Remain at gate or in flat/low dip in road until road ahead to second gate is clear.Do not pull in front of barn if you do not have 4wd. Non 4wd ..pull to right side of barn, stopping at second gate only if you need to unload stalled horses...otherwise, proceed up hill to your campsite.After you reach the top of the hill, go left at every fork, until you reach the Stopsign.Stop and walk to your campsite (Primitive tentsites are sharp to the right, and sites 5-14 are in the circle)See which way you need to enter the circle to enter your campsite the easiest.Unload horses at this time before driving to campsite.

From the South, Hy.74, Charlotte,Tryon, Columbia, Charleston,or Spartanburg area

I-26 to Hendersonville/Upward Rd. Exit #53. Turn left, toward Cracker Barrel/Hendersonville. Continue on Upward Rd. Cross over four lane rd. Proceed past Ingles( The last grocery store!). Upward Rd. becomes Highland Lake Rd. Go to stoplight at US 225 (Presbyterian Church on Right). Turn right. Go approx 1 mile.Turn left onto Erkwood Rd. Go through 4 way stop at Mud Creek Baptist Church.Go to stoplight.Turn left onto Kanuga Rd.(Will turn into Crab Creek Rd.) Go approx. 9 miles to DuPont Rd. Turn left. From I-85 Georgia, Atlanta area via Greenville, SC

Take I-85 to Hwy 25N (in Greenville, SC area).Proceed on Hy.25N to Flat Rock/Tuxedo Exit #5. Go left onto Old Greenville Hwy. Go to 2nd stoplight, (just past the Wrinkled Egg Shop) turn left at the Flat Rock Playhouse, onto Little River Rd.(**Very large rigs over 30 ft will want to continue to Erkwood Rd. (see above)

Regular rigs, after turning left onto Little River Rd. go approx. 5 miles to stop sign, flashing red light. Turn left onto Kanuga (Crab Creek Rd.) Go approx. 7 miles to DuPont Rd. Turn left. Campground is 2 miles on right, just past the horse crossing sign and Hamilton Estates.  Upon Entering Campground, use 4WD if you have it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill. From Caesar's Head, SC via Hwy. 276, Cedar Mountain,NC area

(Hy. 276 not recommended for large RV's or trailers...VERY tight switchbacks and steep!)
Take right onto Cascade Lake Rd. from Cedar Mountain at the new fire station. Go aprox. 3 miles to Staton Rd. Turn Right. Pass Buck Forest Access area and bridge at Hooker Falls. Go exactly 1 more mile, campground is on left. Upon Entering Campground, use 4WD if you have it, otherwise keep steady speed up the hill. Non 4wd vehicles have no problems, unless they stop on graveled hill before getting to barn.So...Please do not stop below barn, on hill. Remain at gate or in flat/low dip in road until road ahead to second gate is clear.Do not pull in front of barn if you do not have 4wd. To Go Home:

To Asheville area and I-40: Left out of the campground. Left at Stop sign. Left at next stoplight. Right at Rite-Aid onto Hy.280.

To Spartanburg, Charlotte, Charleston, I-26: Left out of campground. Right at stop sign. Go 9 miles. Turn right at Erkwood at stoplight.Pass through 4 way stop to Hy. 225.Turn right.Go approx 1 mile to stoplight.Left onto Highland Lake Rd.Keep Straight...turns into Upward Rd. at Ingles...straight will take you all the way to I-26.

To Greenville, SC, Atlanta, Hwy 25 S:  Left out of campground. Right at stop sign. Go 7 miles. Turn right at flashing yellow light.(See above for very large rigs if this turn is too tight) Right at stoplight at Flat Rock playhouse onto Hy 225. 225S, past Wrinkled Egg to ramp to 25 S. Turn right (about 5 miles.)
